Transgenerational consequences of pre-conceptional and in utero exposure to real-life chemical mixtures on fertility and metabolic health
Description: Narrative We are all exposed to a plethora of environmental chemicals, which if they enter our bodies can have detrimental effects on function and health, but importantly can also potentially affect the health of our children and grandchildren. This project will capitalise on a unique animal model that has been established within the UK, brings together expertise from the Universities of Michigan, Glasgow (UK) and Nottingham (UK) to investigate the mechanisms by which a mother’s exposure to a real life cocktail of chemicals during pregnancy can affect the long-term metabolic and reproductive health of her offspring and that of subsequent generations.
