Mechanisms of STING-associated autoinflammation
Description: Project Narrative Activation of DNA-sensing pathways causes autoinflammation and disease in humans and in mice. Our laboratory generated the first model of autoinflammation mediated by STING, a key regulator of DNA sensing in the cytosol, and this allowed us to discover new functions of STING in nontranscriptional regulation of cytokine secretion, as well as a new role for STING in macrophages and innate lymphoid cells. In this project, we will use new animal models to further define mechanisms of STING-associated autoinflammation and cytokine secretion.
