Chromatin basis of cellular senescence and its implication in epithelial ovarian cancer
Description: Project Narrative The proposed research is relevant to public health because it will reveal a critical molecular switch that controls cellular senescence, an important tumor suppression mechanism. These molecular insights may provide scientific rationale to ultimately develop novel strategies with a durable therapeutic outcome for cancers including ovarian cancer, the most lethal gynecological malignancy in the United States. Therefore, the proposed research is relevant to the part of the NIH’s mission that pertains to developing fundamental knowledge that will reduce the burden of human illness.
