Inflammation-resolution impairments in aging and atherosclerosis
Description: NARRATIVE Cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerotic vascular disease, is the leading cause of death. Current studies suggest that persistent inflammation is an important driving force in the progression of this vascular disease. This project will provide a new understanding of age-related mechanisms that contribute to why inflammation is not controlled and will provide new avenues for the treatment of atherosclerosis.
