ISGylation regulates lung endothelial inflammation
Description: Lung microvascular endothelial dysfunction is a hallmark of acute lung injury and sepsis. The proposed studies will be the first to elucidate a new post-translational modification of NF-ĸBp65, ISGylation, and its inhibitory role in of NF-ĸB activation and lung endothelial inflammation. These studies will be critical in development of novel therapeutics by stabilization of ISG15 E3 ligase to diminish lung microvascular endothelial dysfunction in acute lung injury and sepsis.
