Dissecting heterogeneity of excessive daytime sleepiness and impact on cardiovascular diseases

Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) is common and associated with cardiovascular diseases through heterogeneous mechanisms, and our recent studies suggest two subtypes of EDS-sleep propensity and sleep fragmentation. We will use sleep metrics and multi-omics data to understand the physiology and genetic basis of each subtype of EDS, and study their associations with CVD. This study will improve our understanding of the heterogeneity of EDS and inform future interventions for both EDS and CVD.
