The miR-20/c-Myc/E2F Regulatory Axis is Critical for the Tumor Promoting Activity of Inflammatory Fibroblasts in Colitis-Associated Cancer
Description: NARRATIVE The proposed research is relevant to public health because it will seek fundamental knowledge regarding how inflammatory microenvironmental fibroblasts promote oncogenesis through miR-20a and c-Myc. Understanding the pathogenesis of colitis-associated cancer will not only result in preventive strategies for this disease, but also for other inflammation-associated malignancies. Thus, the research is relevant to the part of the NIH’s mission of enhancing health and reducing illness.
