Thinking about walking: Can digital phenotyping of mobility improve the prediction of Alzheimer's dementia and inform on the pathologies and proteins contributing to this association?

Description: NARRATIVE Alzheimer’s disease is a complex disorder that impairs mobility and cognition in older adults, but often poor mobility may precede and predict Alzheimer’s dementia. Optimizing mobility as a biomarker and determining the pathologies and proteins which drive impaired mobility may explain why this phenotype predicts Alzheimer’s dementia. Targeting the drivers of impaired mobility can lead to new treatments that have the potential to prevent two of the most common concerns of older adults, immobility and Alzheimer’s dementia.
