Using mouse models to dissect the roles of ZMPSTE24 and prelamin A in accelerated aging
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Prelamin A is protein that is processed by an enzyme called ZMPSTE24 into to lamin A, a structural component of the cell nucleus. Alterations in prelamin A and ZMPSTE24 have been implicated in accelerated aging syndromes and possibly normal aging. This project will dissect their roles in accelerated aging.
