COBRE in Digestive and Liver Disease
Description: Overall – Project Narrative Digestive and liver disease bears a significant impact in the United States with nearly 70 million US citizens per year impacted by a GI- or liver-related disorder in 2022. Based upon the existing strengths at MUSC and their importance to digestive and liver disease, the CDLD will support research in four thematic areas: 1) Cell Injury, 2) Inflammation and Fibrosis, 3) End Organ Disease, and 4) Cancer. The CDLD will expand these research themes at MUSC by unifying multidisciplinary digestive and liver disease investigators, providing mentoring, and equipping investigators with access and training in advanced technologies and models of digestive disease.
