Abstract: Neuroendocrine tumors are slowly growing tumors which originate from neuroendocrine cells. These tumors can secrete several products. In case of overproduction of serotonin, symptoms such as flushing, diarrhea and right-sided heart disease can occur. Next to serotonin, other well known products are e.g. catecholamines.
