Multi-criteria Model for Selection of Collection System in Reverse Logistics: a Case for End of Life Electronic Products

Year: 2014
Type: article
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to propose a multi-criteria model for end-of-life electronic products collection system selection in a reverse supply chain. The proposed models first determines the pertinent criteria for collection system selection by conducting questionnaire survey and then uses analytic hierarchy process (AHP) rating method to evaluate the priorities of the criteria and alternatives, respectively. Finally, Global weights of the criteria and evaluation score of the alternatives are combined to get the final ranking of the collection systems. The analysis result demonstrates the relative importance of the criteria for evaluating the collection methods, and a real application that shows the preference of collections system(s) to be selected. The use of this newly proposed model indicates that, decision makers can use it to determine the most appropriate collection system(s) from available options in the considering territory. Furthermore, it would be able to make the decision process more systematic and reduce the considerable efforts needed by using the criteria weights created in this model.
