Abstract: The article focuses on the decision of the U.S. government during World War II to intern people of Japanese ancestry. The move of the government was designed to establish the extent to which, and precisely how, the nation's Supreme Court acquiesced in various aspects of internment and to show the continuities between that acquiescence and legal doctrine and social practices. Details on the Naturalization Act of 1790 are also considered.
