Abstract: Reconsidering IT usage as part of a cultural phenomenon drives us to envisage the development of a new instrument to assess the construct of Individual IT Culture (IITC). IT-culture is a concept which has started only recently to appear in IS literature. Grounding our research in psycho sociology and the theories of needs and motivation, which have considerably evolved in the last two decades, we propose the development of a new scale to assess this new concept and, through two-step clustering, we apply this new instrument in order to start verifying a users’ typology based on the users’ IITC.
