Abstract: Despite being used to categorize individuals, little is known about McGregor's Theory X and Theory Y. It is hypothesized that a number of personal traits and personal values predict theory endorsement and that endorsement is subsequently related to stress and health related outcomes. Results support the notion that individual differences are related to endorsement. Further, theory endorsement is related to stress, which mediates the relationship between theory endorsement and health.
