Abstract: The advancement in organizational studies through qualitative research involves ways of organizing intuitive considerations obtained by the investigator by employing methodological procedures, such as grounded theory and design research. Developed in 1967, the grounded theory is more widespread in academia than design research, whose recent development has revealed opportunities for the use of the technique. The joint use of the methodological procedures of grounded theory and design research was analyzed in this paper within the area of supply through a theoretical investigation procedures, followed by a search for publications in the selected area of knowledge for identification of potential application, since no articles that associate the two techniques was previously found. Through the analysis of the articles based on the theories of methodological procedures, it is clear that there is great potential for the use of such approaches together to develop scientific research.
