Social research and researchers in CGIAR: an underused potential.

Abstract: This chapter identifies and explores some potential gains from social research and social researchers in the CGIAR. The thrust is that new and changing perceptions, priorities and conditions open up new needs and potential. These are for practical theory, for being in touch with realities, for developing and spreading methodologies, for institutional learning and change, and for questions and directions to sharpen the focus on poverty.
