Abstract: This article analyses the dramaturgy and mise en scéne of the play Yuri Sam. Una oración (2003), which is the masterpiece of one of the most innovative and talented groups in Basque theatre over the lasts years: the Fábrica de Teatro Imaginario. The play consist in an intercultural and intracultural journey across Indian and Balinese theatrical techniques, mapuche ceremonies and traditional Basque forms, resulting in an original ritual performance where the actor becomes a shaman in order to produce a cathartic experience among the public.
