Correlations between plasma concentration of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide and cardiac function in patients with cardiovascular diseases
Year: 2004
Type: conference-abstract
Abstract: To demonstrate the relations of the plasma N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) concentration with the severity of heart failure, the underling heart disease and New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional classifications in patients with cardiovascular disease. Plasma NT-ProBNP concentrations of patients with cardiovascular disease ( n = 65) and of normal controls ( n = 16) were measured by nonextracted, enzyme-linked, sandwich immunoassay (Elecsys ) after admission. Constructive and functional parameters of heart were measured with echocardiography in 65 patients at the same time.
