Abstract: BackgroundMany applications in basic science, diagnostics, and therapeutics rely on the use of antibodies or antibodylike reagents.Single chain variable fragments (scFvs) are central to many applications in the health sciences and are very easy to work with, but are not effective reagents for research without the corresponding constant region (Fc) of the antibody.Fulllength antibodies are very well established as powerful reagents, but the process of isolating new highquality antibodies is very challenging.Therefore, a system capable of producing antibodylike reagents (scFvFcs) is highly desirable.
