Abstract: The participants in our experiment were asked to judge \nwhether simulated horizontal collisions appeared to be \n“natural” or “unnatural”. We manipulated the simulated \nmaterials and the velocity ratio of two colliding objects. The \nresults revealed a fair degree of consistency between \npredictions of Newtonian mechanics and the participants’ \nresponses.
