Abstract: A total of 54% of responders felt they had had enough information about stroke, yet 80% wanted more specific information on stroke prevention and 42% felt that the information was not personalised. ConclusionsThis study suggests that the questionnaire may be a useful measure of stroke knowledge.Patients did not demonstrate complete knowledge, suggesting an alternative method of patient education is needed.Better informed patients are likely to be more involved in their health care. The effectiveness of individualised patient information booklets can now be assessed.
