Authentic learning in fostering informatics students' competence in identifying business opportunities

Abstract: Identification of business opportunities is a core competence for entrepreneurs and therefore this competence must be emphasized in entrepreneurship education. Because context is a crucial factor in the process of opportunity identification by entrepreneurs, context can be used in designing education in this competence. This study evaluates the effect of an authentic learning context in teaching and learning to identify opportunities.
