Abstract: The PRI have a strong electoral predominance in several states of Mexico; Tabasco is the one of them. In this article present the elements to explain the predominance since 1988. We analyzing the political promotion of the governor Roberto Madrazo and how came to convert in essential factor for the party's victories front the opposition. Specify we study the influence of the governor in the life of the organization, principally on the candidate selection for the local election of 1997.
