Abstract: Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) associated with congenital bicuspid aortic valve (CBAV) is an uncommon finding. In a study of 257 black patients with MVP, the author identified eight patients with associated CBAV. This paper discusses the association of the two lesions in relation to etiologic and surgical implications.
