Measuring γ in B±→K±(KK*)D decays

Year: 2003
Type: article
Abstract: We develop a method to measure the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ without hadronic uncertainties from the analysis of ${B}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{D}^{0}$ and ${K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{D}^{0}$ followed by singly Cabibbo-suppressed D decays to non-$\mathrm{CP}$ eigenstates, such as ${K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}{K}^{*\ensuremath{\mp}}.$ This method utilizes the interference between $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{b}c\ifmmode \bar{u}\else \={u}\fi{}s$ and $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{b}u\overline{c}s$ decays, and we point out several attractive features of it. All the modes that need to be measured for this method are accessible in the present data.
