Test-retest Reliability of Internet-based Self-assessment Program for Depression

Year: 2002
Type: article
Abstract: Clinical depression will be the second most burdensome illness in the world by the year 2020. However, depression is both underdiagnosed and undertreated. We implemented an Internet-based Self-assessment Program for Depression (ISPD) using the combination of a Web server, ASP/HTML files, and a Web-accessible database. The subjects entered the study program through the Internet and conducted self-administered interviews on the website. The purpose of this study was to examine the test-retest reliability of the ISPD. We found the reliability for major depressive disorder and subsyndromal depressive symptoms to be excellent (κ = 0.75 and 1.0, respectively).
