Abstract: Although there is a good review of receptors in the regulation of lipoproteins, the chapter on risk factors offers little practical advice on lipid reduction; and the chapter on exercise, although a good review of previous exercise studies, does not point out the potential, role, or risk of exercise in patients who have undergone reperfusion. In summary, non-physicians and physicians will find much that is of interest in regard to current and future trends in the management of the post-infarct patient in this book. The rapid advances in the therapy of acute infarction, however, make some of the discussions in this book obsolete and assure that we will be seeing many more books on this topic in the future.
