Abstract: The cover image of this issue shows a dendritic cell with an engaged T cell during homeostatic contact, as captured by confocal miscroscopy; the staining represents F‐actin (green), the phosphotyrosine signal (blue) and CD3 (red). The image was kindly provided by Storim et al. (pp. 2741–2750) whose study analyzes T‐cell migration and cell–cell signaling in short‐lived homeostatic DC–T‐cell interactions. Storim et al. define a dynamic immunological synapse with three distinct signaling sectors in the contact plane.
