Abstract: Background: While the prognostic and predictive value of the proliferation marker Ki67 is well established in early breast cancer, little is known about the role of Ki67 in metastatic breast cancer (MBC). The objective of this study was to investigate whether Ki67 determined on metastatic tissue biopsies is prognostic of survival after systemic recurrence of breast cancer.
