Management of psoriasis vulgaris and multiple sclerosis with fumaric acid
Year: 2014
Type: article
Abstract: To the Editor: Psoriasis vulgaris has not only been associated with several comorbidities like metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease, but also with neurologic disorders like multiple sclerosis (MS).1 New-onset psoriatic lesions and exacerbations have been described after treatment with biologics for MS, mainly interferon-beta (INF-β) as well as with other biologics such as natalizumab.2 INF-β is the first-line treatment for clinically isolated syndrome with the high risk for MS development or for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RR-MS).
