Internal Friction in Vanadium-phosphate Glasses
Year: 1983
Type: article
Abstract: Internal friction measurements were made for pure vanadium-phosphate glasses xV2O5. / 1-x/P2O5 and for vanadium-phosphate glasses dopped with NgO and CaO, in 2 series : xMgO. / 0,5-x/V2O5.0,5P2O5 and xCaO. / 0,5-x/V2O5.0,5P2O5/x - in mol%/. The measurements were performed with the torsion pendulum in the frequency range 0,5 ÷ 35 Hz and at temperatures between 120 K and 650 K. For all vanadium - phosphate glasses internal friction curve Q-1 (T) reveals the low-temperature maximum connected with the electron relaxation between V4+ and V5+
