Abstract: A 65-year-old woman was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (FAB; M0) in September 2002.She had been suffering from advanced inoperable adenocarcinoma of the breast and had been treated with chemotherapy, including pirarubicine, fluorouracil, cyclophosphamide and medroxyprogesterone. Thus, the current diagnosis was considered secondary leukemia. She achieved complete remission after initial induction therapy of cytarabine and daunorubicine, but consolidation therapy was not given due to the onset of severe pneumonia. The breast cancer and metastasis of the lymph node progressed after the induction therapy for leukemia was finished.Additional chemotherapy for breast cancer including paclitaxel and local irradiation was initiated.
