Abstract: The genetic progression described by Yamano et al in this issue of The American Journal of Pathology helps establish a progression model for pancreatic ductal carcinoma. This progression model has a number of important implications for the classification of lesions in the pancreas and for the future early detection and chemoprevention of pancreatic carcinoma.
