Abstract: Les dimensions historiques du documentaire muet au Brésil seront discutées au moyen de films et des critiques de la période, plus particulièrement à partir d’une œuvre qui représente une des régions emblématiques du pays, l’Amazonie. Pour ce faire, nous approfondirons notre recherche grâce au travail du cameraman Silvino Santos : No Rastro do Eldorado (Sur les traces de l’Eldorado) (1925). The historical dimensions of the Brazilian silent documentaries will be discussed through films and critics of this period and, in particularly, from a production, which represents one of the most emblematic region of the country, the Amazon. In order to reach these objectives, we will analyze the work of the cameraman Silvino Santos: No Rastro do Eldorado (In the Track of Eldorado) (1925).
