CO Formula observations of a sample of star-formation regions in the southern galactic plane
Year: 1983
Type: article
Abstract: Observations of the |$J=2\rightarrow1$| line of CO have been made towards 17 positions in the southern galactic plane where H2O masers have been detected. An apparent self-absorption is found for RCW 38. In the vicinity of the Carina H2O maser the CO linewidth is broader than at neighbouring positions, which may be related to outflow. The |$J=5\rightarrow4$| line of CS has been observed towards the H II region G322.2 + 0.6. From a comparison with the |$J=1\rightarrow0$| line observed previously, an H2 density of 8 × 105 cm−3 is derived.
