Abstract: Summary A case of ‘inflammatory fibroid polyp’ in the terminal ileum is described. It occurred in a 38-year-old female and was associated with an ileo-ileal intussusception presenting as an acute intestinal obstruction. The macroscopic and microscopic features of this rare lesion are illustrated. It would appear to be an entity which may have been confused in the past with the haemangiopericytoma.
