A selfconsistent field theory of electron localization in disordered systems: the Anderson transition
Year: 1971
Type: article
Abstract: A selfconsistent field theory is applied to Edwards' path integral model of an electron in the presence of a system of dense, weak, random scatterers. It is shown that for the electron's energy below a critical value, E c , the electronic states are localized, (i.e. in the limit of infinite time the electron has nonzero probability of returning to its initial position), while for energies above E c the states are extended.
