Abstract: Source of material: The title compound (alternative name: (2A,4/?,4a5,65,75,7aA)-7-hydroxy-4-[(lA)-l,2-0-cyclohexyudenedioxyethyl]-6-methoxy-2-methyl-perhydrofuro[2,3-e]-1,3oxazine) was prepared by reduction of the corresponding isoxazoline (see ref. 1-4) using LIAIH4, with subsequent protection of the resulting 1,3-aminoalcohol. Crystallization from petroleum ether/ethyl acetate (4:1) furtushed the title compound in the form of colorless crystals [mp 427 К 429 K , [ a ] ? = + 41.8 (с = 0.52, CHCI3)]. The oxazine ring has chair conformation. The nitrogen atom is strongly pyramidalized and forms a hydrogen bridge to the 7-OH group of a neighbouring molecule. The cyclohexylidene groups are stacked in the crystal so that they lie on a directional vector connecting the centres of the rings.
