Abstract: (−) Conduritol B in a racemic mixture was galactosylated enantioselectively at the allylic site by a β1,4-galactosyltransferase catalyzed reaction. Enantioselectivity of the reaction supports a binding model of the galactosyltransferase for modified acceptor substrates.
