Abstract: The structure of the three-body $nn\ensuremath{\Lambda}$ system, which has been observed recently by the HypHI Collaboration, is investigated taking $\ensuremath{\Lambda}N$-$\ensuremath{\Sigma}N$ coupling explicitly into account. The $YN$ and $NN$ interactions employed in this work reproduce the binding energies of $_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{3}\mathrm{H}$, $_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{4}\mathrm{H}$, and $_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{4}\mathrm{He}$. We do not find any $_{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}^{3}n$ bound state, which contradicts the interpretation of the data reported by the HypHI Collaboration.
