Abstract: The anaphase-promoting complex (APC) or cyclosome directs the ubiquitination and destruction of proteins that control specific steps in mitosis. Recent studies show that APC activity requires WD40 domain proteins, and that one of these proteins is part of the checkpoint control that ensures accurate chromosome segregation.
