Abstract: The formal collaboration and partnership of CFNM with iThemba LABS has been successfully implemented. Based on our research outcomes and a better understanding and appreciation of our colleagues in South Africa, we will keep moving forward in a very holistic manner i.e. science, culture and friendship integrated in all our efforts. This is the first time we operated a summer IREU and it was a success, resulting in positive scientific and educational outcomes. We will use our programmatic element from this summer IREU to formally develop Clark Atlanta University into an international REU site for South Africa.
