Abstract: We discuss building models for nucleon generalized parton distributions $H$ and $E$ that are based on the formalism of double distributions (DDs). We found that the usual ``$\mathrm{DD}+\mathrm{D}$-term'' construction should be amended by an extra term, $\ensuremath{\xi}{E}_{+}^{1}(x,\ensuremath{\xi})$ built from the $\ensuremath{\alpha}/\ensuremath{\beta}$ moment of the DD $e(\ensuremath{\beta},\ensuremath{\alpha})$ that generates generalized parton distribution $E(x,\ensuremath{\xi})$. Unlike the $D$ term, this function has support in the whole $\ensuremath{-}1\ensuremath{\le}x\ensuremath{\le}1$ region, and in general does not vanish at the border points $|x|=\ensuremath{\xi}$.
