Abstract: In the Spring, 1993 issue of JM, Dan Dalton and I welcomed a new section, Research Methods and Analysis (RM&A).At that time, we were convinced of the need for a publication outlet for those interested in methodological issues, and we were hopeful that such an outlet would provide a valuable service to management researchers.I would like to take this opportunity to update you on our progress.First, I am happy to report that with this issue, eighteen articles have been published in the RM&A section since it first appeared in the Fall, 1993 issue. These articles cover a wide range of topics, and I would like to thank the authors for contributing their work to this new venture.Second, I should note that I have processed 91 manuscripts since our Call for Papers was distributed.I am pleased with this response, and hope that the submission rate will continue to grow in the upcoming year.As Dan and I noted in our welcoming statement, the success of the special section depends on the regular submission of high-quality manuscripts.I would like to again emphasize our interest in papers from a variety of substantive management disciplines, and representing both qualitative and quantitative methods.Third, I would like to thank the RM&A editorial board members, as well as those who have reviewed on an ad-hoc basis, for their work toward evaluating and improving manuscripts submitted to the section.I have received many compliments on the complete and thorough reviews of papers submitted to RM&A.Methodological manuscripts typically require considerable effort to review, and the diligent work of these individuals is greatly appreciated. Finally, I am delighted to announce the addition of five new persons to the RM&A editorial board who will bring a wide range of methodological and substantive expertise to our review process. The new members include:
