Abstract: This article proposes a systematic study of the most salient linguistic features of the French spoken in Frenchville, Pennsylvania, at the end of the XXth century. It also attempts to account for their origin and explanation in relation with the evolution of popular varieties of French and of northern Gallo-Roman dialects, and in the sociolinguistic context of North America.
