Abstract: MANY of the concerns facing ICN in the 1990s had remained constant throughout the organisation's history. These include professional services issues, economic stability, international relations and global nurse representation. Many ICN activities in the 1990s were devoted to addressing these familiar problems in new ways. As the century drew to a close, more than 4,500 nurses from every region of the world gathered with joy and pride at the ICN Centennial Conference in London. They celebrated one hundred years of accomplishment and accepted a new vision to lead ICN and nursing into the 21st Century.
