The Discovery of Unconventional Myosins: Serendipity or Luck?
Year: 2004
Type: article
Abstract: When I received an invitation in September 2002 from Herb Tabor to write a Reflections article, I thought there must be some mistake. Reflections are written by old guys like, like, like—and then reality hit—like me. My second thought was “why bother, who’d be interested?” Then, a year later while at dinner in Cambridge, England, Alan Weeds asked me how I had come to work on myosin. My response was interrupted by the waiter’s request for our dessert orders after which the conversation turned to other topics.
