Abstract: T-lymphocytes are present throughout the length of the mucosa of the small and large intestine.Studies of intestinal intraepithelial T-lymphocytes (IEL) suggest that some IEL are derived from the thymus, whereas others might develop in situ.In the human intestinal epithelium, the majority of T-cells express T-cell receptor ( TcR) ap, CD4-CD8+.The intestinal TcR ap repertoire in man appears to contain dominant populations of cells of the same specificity.*We examined the characteristics of TcR p repertoire in nondiseased human large intestine.Fourteen patients 30 25
