Abstract: A fast digital two-channel pulse generator for controlling initiation and investigation of time-dependent processes is described. A gating pulse is periodically swept through the period of the excitation pulses, thereby chopping the initiated process into measurable quantities. The same quartz-controlled time base, used throughout the whole generator, provides exact repetition times and high-quality long-term stability. Minimum pulse widths are 20 ns.
